About the Insurance

The Student Insurance Scheme is a welfare initiative implemented by the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) of Mahatma Gandhi University. It aims to provide financial protection and emergency support to students studying in the University’s teaching departments as well as in its affiliated colleges. The scheme covers students in cases of accidents, critical illnesses such as cancer, permanent disability, and untimely death. While students and their parents are the eligible beneficiaries of the scheme, the application can only be submitted by authorized college representatives such as the Principal or Student Welfare Officer through the official university web portal. After submission, the Directorate of Students’ Welfare verifies the details and forwards valid claims to the insurance company for processing. This initiative ensures that no student faces academic or financial setbacks due to unforeseen emergencies.
